Ford GoBike Teams Up With Alaska Airlines
Bike Here, Fly There
Ford GoBike announced this week their partnership with Alaska Airlines. Ford GoBike riders can earn 10 Alaska Airlines miles every time they ride a Ford GoBike. Through the Ford GoBike app, riders can link their Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan to track their miles, or sign up for free to start earning miles with each ride. Specifically, Alaska Airlines has over 60+ nonstop flights to and from the Bay Area.
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Alaska Airlines and Ford GoBike joined Sam Liccardo, San Jose Mayor, community members, and regional officials in a lively event in the San Pedro Square Market. The attendees had the opportunity to hear first-hand details about the partnership, initiative, and impact this partnership will have on consumers.
“Alaska Airlines is committed to providing Bay Area residents with accessible, convenient and sustainable modes of transportation,” said Alaska Airlines’ External Relations Vice President Diana Birkett Rakow. “As part of creating an airline that people love, we want to deliver high value for loyal guests, including the opportunity to get 'more bang for your bike' every time you ride a Ford GoBike. Our dedication to innovation has led us to be a globally recognized leading airline in corporate sustainability efforts and we continually look to make an impact on the local level as well through our active community engagements such as the Salvation Army.”
As part of the partnership, Alaska Airlines is sponsoring 100 percent of the San Jose Ford GoBike stations, and an additional 250 stations throughout the Bay Area.
Below you will find the social media engagements that Ford GoBike posted to promote the partnership.
Also, it was great to see that Alaska Airlines also posted on social media promoting the partnership.
It will be interesting to see how this partnership affects the number of riders that use the Ford GoBike program. It would be great to see an increase in Ford GoBike users because of the extra incentive to ride. Only time will tell if this partnership will add value to the Ford GoBike program, and value for their customers!
