About Ford and The Ford GoBike

Image
Brand’s Brief History Ford: Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford 1903. Ford’s first model was the model A. It was not until the Model T that Ford saw huge success. Since then, Ford has remained fairly stable. The quality and image of Ford dropped during the 80s and 90s due to bad quality control. However, executive shifts in the company over the years allowed Ford to gain their quality reputation back in the eyes of consumers. Today, Ford is pushing to be seen as more eco friendly, and one of these initiatives is the Ford GoBike. Find more in-depth information about the history of Ford at Ford.com. Brief Description of the Transition

Image
Brief Description of the Transition Ford has been one of the auto giants in the United States for over 100 years. However, in order to stay competitive in the market, Ford is transitioning from purely an auto company to a more eco-friendly company for active millennials. Ford is know for gas guzzling cars, and in today's society not being seen as eco-friendly hurts sales. The Ford GoBike not only hops on the hot trend of bike sharing networks, but also helps the brand in becoming a sustainable, eco-friendly company. In addition, the bikes provide cheap and effective advertisement for the brand. The GoBike is being tested in the Bay area and may be expanded in coming years. It will be interesting to see where Ford takes this project!
